Her "constituents" cannot support a vast right wing conspiracy.

Yes. Tulane games too.

See recall tents everywhere. Neutral grounds, any event/festival, random spots.

I get that part, but she's gone on a speedrun of fricking the city over since re-election. there's been a big shift away from supporting her.

I'm saying that isn't the reason the recall isn't likely to pass.

JFC landman, me, my wife, son and neighbor all signed the same petition that I downloaded and printed then I went to a signing event and dropped it off.

This. People inside the city are of two minds. 1) the place is so corrupt, it won't matter....anyone who replaces her will be just as bad....they won't vote for Helena Moreno who although a liberal, is not corrupt and JP Morrell who although corrupt, wants things to run right for the sake of the 7th Ward power brokers. 2) the black victim mentality who will support Teedy at the expense of everything else because she is black and don't want to give into the whites uptown or in Lakeview.

Either way the will is not there. It's a black thing and it will be up to black New Orleans to decide and they don't really see anything all that wrong.

You right. I thought it needed 40% - but needs 20%.

I’ll say it: there aren’t enough white people on Orleans parish, and the blacks like her.

Yes correct. Most people in New Orleans don’t give a shite and just accept that their politicians don’t give a frick about them and will be as corrupt as possible

Apathy. Mayor (no matter who it is) will not improve SWB, condition of roads, explosion of insurance cost, or stop the thugs.

This. You're not going to see a Desantis clone, or even Lynne Cheney clone, become mayor. The next mayor, and the next three after that, are all going to be crooked thieves just like the last few.

If the city doesn't change after a major disruptive event like Katrina, it's not going to change on a pretty average year.

Look what happened to California after they recalled a governor. Shittier than ever, with Newsome running it and Schiff and Pelosi in congress. They didn't exactly paint the state red.

You have to remember Orleans Parish is deep blue politically. It went 83% for Biden. In order to get enough signatures you have to convince a lot of liberal democrats to reverse their own votes, and against a woman of color at that. It's a big ask.

I work in NOLA and have been around here much longer than you. I understand the goings on just fine.

No one that gets any traction for office is worth a shite. That's not my fault for pointing it out. It's on the shitty electorate that either stays home or reelects morons like Teedy.

you don't really see much latoya support around the city these days.

Cool, she was fricking awful back when she ran for reelection and cruised to victory.

Most of anyone who would care has already moved away, establishing residency elsewhere so their kids can go to college in another state and not pay non-res tuition.

It's not an "either/or" scenario. Both could happen although unlikely.
