Why aren’t people running to sign the recall effort in NOLA?
Posted by JS87

For the life of me, I just don’t understand it.
What more do you need to see??!!
Is it because “her people” think it’s an attack on a black woman? Do they not give shit?

There were a lot of people who were in the beginning.
The recall effort will get more signtures in the city than JBE's statewide recall efforts during Covid lockdowns.

I’m in St. Tammany but I think a lot of people feel that it won’t matter. The city is so corrupt would it actually do any good?

The organizers have not done a great job IMO. A serious recall effort is as or more labor intensive than an actual race and they seem to be doing this as kind of a part time thing.
That they’ve gotten as many signatures as they have is a testament to how much discontent there is.

It's very simple. A certain percentage of registered voters have to sign the recall. That total is higher than the number of voters in the last election. Nola never updates voter rolls so it will be impossible to have a successful recall.

They are starting to go door to door
Mailing out recall forms
Running more TV and radio ads
They are having several sign up events every day of the week
What else do you want them to do?

I disagree to an extent. There are plenty of opportunities to sign the petition. The organizers have set up tents and signing tables across the city on many weekends and at festivals and such.
There’s a large percentage of people who aren’t at all, or barely, engaged in city politics. And the biggest reason is that the majority of blacks and white women will not vote against a sitting black female mayor under any circumstances. They have bought into the BLM rhetoric book, line, and sinker.

This is somewhat true but not as true as you think IMO. LaToya has been so bad that even this has faded amongst those that are engaged enough to know what’s going on. This:

Is more true but again there’s little to any saturation of the recall effort that you have to have to be successful regardless of where you are. These things have like a 5% success rate nation wide. Blaming New Orleans is not really accurate.

There are tons of people that think she is in the right on almost everything she's done.
there are, but it's not as widespread as the board thinks. it's just an inefficient method of signing and really bad messaging/campaigning for it.
when the recall started, they had a few signing events regularly across town, but I haven't seen the same effort since then.
not to mention 90% of the people here posting about the recall don't even live in OP so it's a little skewed there too.

why do y'all post this shite as if it's a fact?
