Going through my home safe, I came across a stack of $2 bills that I have in there for years. Got me thinking, why don't we use them more often?

quote:

The phrase is actually "queer as a two dollar bill" which came about because the two dollar was strange to people as in queer = strange. 5. TurtleBork. 3y. Youre gayer than a 3 dollar bill.

Bad rap.

They have 3 dollar bills too, but they're being hoarded by the queers.

You can still use them, but are you asking why they stopped printing them?

They don’t fill a niche. We should have a $25 bill instead of a $20.

I bought a pack a couple weeks ago. We use them to tip when we travel. Servers love them.

it is very odd how they are treated as somewhat different than their value. Nobody bats an eye at a 1,5,10,20,50, or 100, but if you pay for something with only Jeffersons then people lose their minds

growing up, every time I visited my grandparents, we would arrive late and eat then go right to sleep. In the morning at the breakfast table there would be an envelope next to my sister and my plates filled with $2 bills, usually like $40 or so. My grandfather always gave them out to all the grandkids, so those $2 bills have special meaning to us now that he is gone. He was awesome.

I have a friend who gets them from his bank and uses them all the time. Sort of his calling card.

Because our grandparents have passed on and don’t send them to us for our birthdays anymore.
