Why are so many people ignorant of how a traffic light works?

Maybe it’s just me that gets pissed off about this, but when the car in front of me, in a turn lane, is 20ft behind the line, I want to get out and politely explain why the turn signal hasn’t come on in 2 cycles.

But I don’t want to get shot.

It's something in the air that makes people stupid.

I just bump the car up to the line. Nobody notices anymore.

This happened recently to me on Pecue and Airline. Several light cycles came and went and the idiot was not all the way up. Didn't even think twice to move up. It was likely several more cycles before someone was going to do anything about it so i went right and was on my way. I would have had to get out of my car to show her vs. honking. simply not worth getting shot or whatever. Infuriating though.

I've just hopped into a lane a time or two at a light when a car is like super far behind the car in front of them or the line.

Not going to lie, when a traffic light is out and somebody doesn't treat it like a stop sign, I wave my arms at them and am way too proud of myself for knowing the correct protocol.

The great philosopher, Ron White, once said, "you can fix a lot of things, but you can't fix stupid."

Who knows. I passed a line of cars today by taking the center turning lane then jumping back in. Guess they were busy playing on their phones.

20ft behind the line

That’s enough room to pull in front of them.

Still risk getting shot, but at least you’ll only have to wait for one light cycle.

Thoughtless people stop 20 feet behind the person in front of them and then, no one can use the turn lanes. Get off the phone. Be courteous. And pull up. Thoughtless? Stupid? Both?

Wait until these same people who can't figure out traffic lights encounter a roundabout.

People that come to a complete stop at a blinking yellow light need their license pulled.

The correct distance is when you can barely see the vehicle in front of yous tires touching pavement
