Why are people fundraising for covid relief?

Just saw that the nfl draft-a-thon raised $100 million for covid relief efforts. Have these suckers not heard that the government is just running the printing presses to pay for this boondoggle? Let's be honest, that money will go to absolutely nothing meaningful

I’ve seen a lot of food donations too but everyone appears to be as fat as ever

In these uncertain times $100 million is like 10 bucks

This “crisis” will be the biggest fraud money grab event in human history.

Buying groceries for laid off nurses is nice.

Hopefully going to people in need instead of the healthcare professionals that are still employed and continuing to get paid.

How do you plan to get in on it?

Kind of like the Miller beer commercial that they are donating $1m to the virtual tip jar. Who actually gets that money? I’m sure (ok I assume) there are over a million workers in the bar industry, so a buck each? Sounds nice but what does it really do?

So our heroes can go on vacations when this is over

These people don't know what it's like to be hungry.

These million dollar field hospitals that treated less than 10 patients. Some people are making some serious $$$$ off these contracts

Truth. And I’m happy about that. these incessant food programs can’t possibly be necessary in this country, except maybe Meals on Wheels for the old feeble folks. Diabetes is the bigger concern.
Anytime local news does a story on a food bank or something similar it’s just a constant stream of fat people getting free groceries.
