Do I get to claim ALL income?

Me. My wife is an accountant; I’m an engineer. I made about 20% more than her in the first year of our marriage, after which she retired to motherhood. Eventually I started a business, and she started moonlighting as an accountant. Then she started supporting the business. After about a dozen years she backed off and now she works about one day per week and watches our grandchildren two days per week. Great mother; great grandmother; beautiful, loving creature. I treasure her.

Now, that is a great way to put it!

Been lucky enough to have my wife stay home with our kids from the start. We’ve had to sacrifice in the beginning, but glad we made that choice.

I'm an oral surgeon. My wife is an orthodontist. When I owned my own practice we made about the same. I sold my practice 5 years ago but still work 4 days a week as an associate. She makes 2x what i make and she works 3.5 days a week.

Same. Works for us but I imagine it could be an issue for some couples.

I make more but she still pays for half the opex.
ETA, I would be thrilled if she made more than me. Any reasonably successful person that isn’t a piece of shite would be.
