Lord, yes. Started going there senior year of high school. Captain Jack still means nothing else but closing time.

I remember my first time going there after turning 18. $5, all you can drink.

I was introduced to Ameretto Sours and must have drank 20 of them. Looking back, I have no idea what I was thinking ordering that nasty drink.

We used to go in high school. That's where I discovered Long Island ice tea.

Got so very sick on Long Island Ice Tea there. Never drank one again.

One of the bartenders dated a girl who lived across the hall from me in the dorm and would try out new shots on us. One was so vile…went down, came right back out. He said “ok, that one won’t be the special tonight…”

Yep they'd just make pitchers of a mixed drink and hand you plastic cups.

It's just one of those drinks that doesn't taste like it has much alcohol in it but will mess you up. I haven't had one of those since the 90s most likely.

That old Gattis location by the North Gates was always clutch.

The bar in Cortana, I think it was called Chelsea's, had live music and cheap cocktails by the pitcher.

The Sports Page on Sherwood. Great live music - Friday night RedLine and Saturday night Maniaxe, lots of women with hot 80's hair piled high.

He was a cool guy. I remember my mom dropping me off and he’d give me a quarter for a bottle coke. I’d get my haircut and then sit around listening to the old guys gossip. Places like that are a thing of the past.

Joe’s Barber Shop. Joe would pay more attention to the back of your head so he could talk to everyone in the room. But he always made you feel like a million bucks as a recent college grad.

How about the Happy Note? Best bar ever.

Yep, was next to the McDonalds on Florida before it burned down. Then rebuilt. Had a flea market in the parking lot.

Excellent dive bar. Strong drinks.

Thirsty Tiger under the hill downtown was a good one, too.
