No breakers tripped. Air handler in the attic is running. Fan on the condenser is running. Compressor not kicking on.

Yup. This time a year it’s almost always a clogged drain line. If your thermostat says disconnected or no power, then this is 100% the issue.
If ac is in attic, need to go right to the downstairs sink it is attached to and take off the T.

There’s a couple AC companies that I know that don’t charge extra for nights and weekends calls.

don't know how you could live in south Louisiana without a few window shakers
—people did it for hundreds of years. Some still do: open windows and fans.

Update: found an Ace hardware in Metairie that had one (1) capacitor in my size on a Sunday morning. Swapped it out, now we coolin. Thanks for the insight, OT.

Good deal! Now, buy yourself a couple more as soon as you can find them. Put them back for the next time this happens.
