Unless I'm specifically told to do otherwise, I'm wearing a suit and tie. Worst case scenario the tie is unnecessary and all you have to do is take it off. But I'd rather have it and not needed vs. the opposite.

If it's two redneck families who you KNOW will be insulted by you dressing "nice" (aka like a queer!) then don't wear a suit. I suppose your finest LSU shirt and "nice" jeans will suffice.

Remember, there is nothing wrong with dressing nicely. It's actually a sign of respect to the the couple to be married. Plus, even if you're a slap-dick, if you wear a suit, people who don't know you well will think you have your shite together. Especially women! If you are single a rehearsal dinner is a GREAT time to get laid -- forced conversation; encouraged alcohol consumption and jealous/sad single girls wishing it was them getting married.

If it’s in New Orleans fall/winter a navy or black suit - spring/summer linen/seersucker suit. Anywhere else you’ll be fine business casual.

Sports coat or blazer. No tie.

I guess it depends upon where it's being held and how formal it is. But, this is typically what I go with.

Is it suit and tie formal, or just business attire?

Dafuq does this mean? Is busniess attire not a suit and tie?

I know the groom is mourning the impending post-nuptial shutoff, but it's not a funeral. Good grief.

I'm pretty traditional, I'm just pushing back on these staunch views that I don't think reflect east coast realities anymore.

I'm betting he isnt going to a rehearsal dinner on the east coast.

Um...no. Factually incorrect.
