Your dog is one hell of a guard dog though...

I don't mind letting my two young girls take her for a walk around the neighborhood. She's certainly alert and can be intimidating.

Yup. My two wieners may not be big but are very protective. Esp with the 10 moth old grandson... There will not be any strangers getting into my house without EVERYONE knowing it....

Sophie, our 13.5 year old golden went to the rainbow bridge in early November. A shorkie puppy will be ready for us the day after Christmas. I can't wait to have Tilly Mae in the house!

This is not Tilly Mae, but a reasonable facsimile.

I've got a 4 month old Weimaraner

Mine is 10 1/2. Beautiful gray. Sad part is he always has had a heart murmur and it's finally caught up with him.

A couple months ago he started heaving and gagging a lot. Took him to the vet. Vet says it's a cold. Few weeks pass and it gets worse. Bring him back to the vet, 1500 bucks later, he is full of fluid around his heart and He has congestive heart failure. They gave me some pills and it seemed to help with the cough and diuretics to help the fluid. Works Great for a month. Still very active and coughing stopped. In the past few weeks he's dropped 25 lbs. can't jump, barley eats and just mopes around. Took him back to the vet yesterday and was told it's the beginning of the end. Gave me more meds to "keep him comfortable". I just can't put him down but not sure how much longer I can watch him like this

Hardest decision in life. Bawled like a baby when we put one down last year. Enjoy your days together but make the tough call when it is time.

Sho Tsu. Two. All though one seems to be something else. Doesn't look like one and is a complete alpha hunting dog personality.
