Im 41. I remember watching the Berlin wall falling coverage. Didn't know what was going on but remember seeing people standing ontop the wall and walking thru it. Next thing was Rodney King 2 or 3 years later.

Or whatever form of media - be it radio, tv, internet, etc. I am 38. The OJ Simpson bronco chase was the earliest news event I recall.
I’m sure it’s been posted but that baby in the well was the first thing I remember. I was 6
Remember it being a really big deal back then.

Don’t remember specifics, but I remember a televised NASA splashdown. My parents thought it was a big deal. Just a capsule with 2-3 red and white parachutes. When the capsule door popped open audible cheers could be heard from the tv audio and my parents seemed pleased and proud as well. It was in the very early 70s and was no older than 4.

Iran hostage crisis.
For a while I thought I was a curse. Every time I skipped school I was watching some disaster or event on TV.
- 1983 barracks
- Challenger
- Hank Gathers dying (Loyola Marmount was so fun to watch)
- Len Bias dying right after the Celtics drafted him

I remember watching Reagan getting sworn in as President. I think I was in 2nd Grade. Teacher brought a TV into the classroom to watch. I think I was more impressed that a TV could be moved like that.
I remember the Iran-Contra hearings as well. Probably the first major news event outside of the Space Shuttle crash I can recall. It was on every afternoon for a while when I came home from school. That was also about the time I began thinking joining the Marines was what I wanted to do after high school and watching Oliver North on TV looking like I can take whatever the frick yall can throw at me and give me some more made me think damn the Marines are some hardcore motherfrickers.

I watched that one live in Clearwater.
I pulled off US19….A string of cars pulled behind me. You see them when they got a few thousand feet up. Vapor trailer as they went up. It blew up and I turned to run back to the car. One man asked “What was that?” I yelled back “It blew up!’”

I'm 58. I vaguely remember Vietnam stuff, and Watergate on TV. Challenger explosion is the first one I remember vividly where I was. I was late teens I guess.
