Obviously places like NYC and LA have the most bums but that's due to sheer population.

But from a per capita perspective it has to be New Orleans, right? Drifters and bums on every corner, intersection, off ramp and on the sidewalks

I would say Seattle if we are talking per capita. About 750K residents in Seattle proper but bums fricking everywhere

Someone already did the research for us. Top cities of homeless per 100K residents. LINK

I know Los Angeles is huge, but the homeless problem was unlike anything I’d ever seen when we went in 2019. It has to be in the top 4 or 5.

Wild how all these big cities that vote blue and are filled with liberals have so many homeless. You’d think with all the compassionate people around they’d offer their homes up to the needy.

On trip to Knoxville a few years back the number of bums in the relatively small downtown area surprised me. Looked like city planners had tried to make a walkable district with a central square for small evening/weekend performances. Bums availed themselves of the space for their usual routine.

Damn. Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi are still at the bottom even when it comes to homelessness per 100k.

When I was traveling, it was Louisville, KY.

Los Angeles was bad, but for a town the size of Louisville it was awful.

Beggar does not equal Homeless.

We have a bunch of beggars that have places to stay, they just like getting hand outs. It is amazing how many people pay beggars. I was sitting in a Walgreens parking lot waiting for something and the beggar in the street was getting money about every other light cycle like clockwork. Even if it is only $1 per car that is $1 every 4 minutes tax free or the mythical $15/hr everyone seems so hung up on.

And yes, Seattle is the correct answer per capita.

I take back my last post, they’re #2. Bums just try to collect enough cash to get a one way flight there and stay there forever. There was actually a very, very famous bum who did that and actually made something of himself. I swear I’m not lying here, but it’s this guy:
