What are your feelings on people who always put their cell phones screen down?

Something to hide?
Just a habit?
Protecting their screen?
Just like privacy?

I know that at times it can be a combination of these things, but what do you think is the predominant reason?

It protects the cameras sticking out the back.

I got asked that in a meeting and just simply said I didn’t want anything to draw my attention away from the conversation…which was actually true

It's the only appropriate way to place your phone when engaging with someone else.

wow that is bold. Why would someone ask that?
I do it in meetings for the same reason- in case the screen lights up it won't distract anyone.

I have never thought about or noticed others doing it. sometimes I do it and I have no explanation other than it was turned that way when setting it down

It keeps my focus on the people I'm with and avoids any appearance that I'm not focused on whatever I'm supposed to be doing

At night I don’t want the light from my Lock Screen coming in every time I get a notification.

During the day I do both just depends on how I lay my phone down.

That way they can’t tell you’re recording a video.

They don't want everyone to see that John's Buy Here/Pay Here Used Car Lot is calling them 5 times a day wondering when they will get their $700 payment from 2 months ago on the '19 Raptor they just got.

I always put mine screen down to protect the screen from something falling on it.

You’ve never just casually observed something and it piqued your curiosity. I didn’t say that I just stand over people’s phones waiting for something to come through.

In reality, I’ve noticed it most with teens and young adults. Couple that with the fact that I’ve always placed mine screen up, and that explains the question…motherfricker.
