What are some brands/products today that are just as good as they’ve ever been?

The Wendy’s thread had me thinking about this. Along with me ordering a pair of Footjoy golf shoes and my friend buying a newer Remington 870.

The golf shoes I got are a long running line Footjoy has made but apparently the new ones since they’ve started manufacturing in China rather than Massachusetts are not nearly as good. Same with the Remington 870 (when they were still produced). I’ve held one from 40 years ago and it’s noticeably nicer than my friends that is only a few years old.

My first thought is the kitchen aid mixer I bought as a gift. That thing feels like it was made in the 1950s. Heavy duty metal and so far runs like a champ. What are some other brands or products that haven’t fallen off because of cheaping out on materials our outsourcing production or whatever reason.

I was thinking about this the other day. Not many products have improved over the years. Cost cutting is the main culprit.

Weed has gotten better over the decades and also hasn't gone up in price when you factor inflation.

Honda small engines and ATVs are still very reliable after adding considerable tech over the years.

It took a pretty big fricking hit when they got rid of the 10.
