I’m thinking the condenser may have froze up.

you shouldn't have to think, just look at the return lines on the unit inside or outside. If it is frozen the lines will be frozen. If they are turn the thermostat from cool to fan and auto switch to on.

Bumping this thread because i decided to do the coil cleaning process on the ac unit today. While the advice reminded me to be wary of the air attack, i wasn’t prepared for the ground assault.

Before i could get the fan shroud off, my foot was covered in fire ants. That was fun!

Also was not prepared for what a a pain in the dick reassembling the outside vents/ covers would be.

The smaller piece on the back was fairly simple. Getting the bigger piece that covers 3/4 of the unit and the fan shroud back together had me questioning whether i deserved a man card

That is another reason why I have a reminder on my Outlook calendar to schedule my AC guy service my units at the start of Spring each year. The only thing I do is change the filters. And I also have an Outlook reminder for the first Saturday of each month so I don’t forget to do it.

I’m a firm believer that when it comes to expensive things like A/C units, I want a professional I know and trust to maintain it.

Also opened up a nice gash in my finger. Those edges are razor sharp. But, i powered through and got it done.

It was more of a “ prove to myself i could do it” challenge.

Make sure to wash it with soap & water and pour rubbing alcohol in the wound, and bandage it up; I had a pt come in with MRSA from that very thing.

Yep, mama done drenched it in peroxide, slathered it with triple anti-biotic and wrapped it up. Good to go
