Appears to be lots of rain with it. Apparently it skirts the coast then sends its remnants back over all of the southeastern part of the state. Get your grass cut soon because it may be a while.

I never understand what these color map pictures are showing me. Can you explain it to me like I'm 5?

Eta: as far as what this means in tropical storm terms. All I understand from the picture is that it's going to rain next week. But how does that equate to tropical storm indication?

He was the one around here in 2016 warning everyone about a similar setup. I'm just fine if he has nothing to say about this setup.

You serious? Its explained on the chart....

It literally shows you what each color is

Thats all this chart shows. It has nothing to to with tropical storm indication. Its a precipitation chart.

Thats why it says "ACCUMULATED TOTAL PRECIPITATION"

Thats their fault.

This clearly just shows its going to rain. If you cant tell that from just looking at the chart then I dont know what to tell you.

Right that's my point. So I'm not missing anything about it? I'll see these charts posted in reference to tropical storms or hurricane potential or whatever and always assume I'm supposed to be able to infer something more. Like the rain and temperature and air currents or something all add up to be some kind of indicator but I lack the meteorological knowledge to interpret it.

So this is just...it's going to rain next week..

I could post the previous runs hinting at it if you’d like but you’ll probably find something to bitch about with those too.

As for the other poster saying this shows nothing regarding a tropical storm… rain would be the biggest threat. Wind might gust to 45mph over a 10 square mile area along the coast so if you have some loose leaves on your trees, those might be dislodged and break loose.

It's alittle early to be drunk on a beach, huh?

What!? I can’t believe he would vacation during hurricane season and leave us all out to fend for ourselves like that.

Yes. The chart tells you what information its giving you. "ACCUMULATED TOTAL PRECIPITATION". Nothing more, nothing less.

Could it be because of a tropical disturbance of some sort? Sure. But that is still not what THIS chart is telling you.
