I went to Northside high. This dude Dustin used to choke me out at least twice a week. Lucky me he was expelled. Don’t know what happened with him. Probably in jail.

I mean… the older guys would mess with us with silly pranks, but nothing crazy like throwing us in dumpsters.

No hazing but the rest of that movie was pretty much spot on.. I remember first time I saw it I thought who was following me around.. the various groups …check..the bowling alley or pool hall…check … the party in the woods ( we always went with a big bonfire …. beers etc under the bridge at the edge of town… clothes .. yup we looked goofy.. Individual responsibility… no politics.. cops corrected things but also let things be a learning experience… Life was good
Sounds a lot like Northshore (St. Tammany) circa late 80s early 90s.

The High School I went to was a big wrestling school. The coach at the time won several state titles and they were always in the mix every year.
He also had quite the temper and was quite full of himself.
There was talk that if you wanted to be on the team, you had to pass the upperclassman hazing but no one ever talked about it.
That was, until the coach got into a fight at a match with another coach. Then, he got upset at another meet with a point being awarded and told all the other wrestlers they were getting on the bus and leaving, which they did.
This got him in hot water with the school admins, but then the shite hit the fan.
Not long after that happened, a hazing scandal leaked that the senior members of the team were holding the freshmen down and shoving jump rope handles up their arses.
Several kids confirmed this happened and the coach was fired.
Even after that, because the school sucked at most other sports, people petitioned to have him reinstated because “hazing was just a part of growing up.”

We had a belt line for Ag members.

I think this is more about generation than geography.

No, but I got hazed as a Freshman at LSU in the fraternity system.

1976 at Rummel it was still a thing but very toned down from just a couple of years earlier. They made us wear beanies and hang from the arcade and similar stuff. Nothing much worse.

we didn't have anything like that. It was more like the upper classmen pretty much ignored freshmen.

Public high school, Lake Charles, mid 70s. My freshman year, some kids were shaved by the seniors at the beginning of the year. We were all on guard, but almost all of the kids who got shaved had older brothers, and it was "sort of" approved. Maybe less than 10 kids out of a large class, and it was a bit of a badge of honor. They also turned their Sr. rings around, and popped us on the head, mostly just during the first week or two. By the time I graduated, these "traditions" had died.

YES - to get in the Interact Club
We had Nair sprayed on our nuts, then they shot us with tobasco from a water pistol, we did weenie races where you picked a weenie up off a a block of ice with your butt checks and ran 40 yards.
Then they dropped us off naked about 5 miles from school
I survived

Only thing close to hazing that I ever saw was getting someone to do a Chinese sit-up on an FFA trip. This was mid-90s.

Yes, the HS I went to in the early 90s still did forms of "hazing". There was a day similar to the Dazed and Confused party where the Seniors would dress up the freshman girls, face painting, etc...
We would also have to play stupid games during pep rallies. Boys on sports teams would have to carry around a Senior players shite.
The only extreme hazing was done on the football team. Won't discuss that. Don't want to trigger anyone. Everyone lived and is still friends so whatever.

Absolutely 100% I will get you

No.
Other than the usual messing around crap that happens with all school age kids, none of that extreme stuff ever happened at our old school.
