Warning very gruesome pitbull story from today.

So earlier today after practicing tball with my son he asked to go see the trains. I live in a city that has a large train watching platform downtown and typically there are some trains that slowly go by and will blow their horn for the kids.
There were no trains so I went to make a quick block and head home since it was almost dark. I see this older gentleman in his 70s, wearing a coon skin hat, and walking his German shorthaired pointer. His dog was barking and pulling the leash and then I notice a pitbull, attached to a 15 ft logging chain, running full speed at them. Instantly the dogs start fighting so I pulled over trying to be a good samaritan. I was thinking I could grab the large chain on the pitbull and try my hardest to pull the dogs apart. The dogs were latched for several minutes and it was getting gruesome, blood was everywhere and the old man was losing his mind yelling at me to get them apart. So first off all I'm not getting my body close to the dogs heads. The old man's dog appeared to quit fighting and I couldn't tell if it was dead or if it just gave up. As soon as this happened it was as if a switch flipped in the old man. He grabbed his pocket knife and started stabbing the Pitbull violently and I'm pretty sure he hit a main artery as blood was spewing everywhere, like over 5 ft per squirt. The street was covered in blood.
At this point the old man seemed to be getting irritated with me since I couldn't get the pitbull to release even though I was pulling hard enough to move a damn truck but this dog was latched on to his dog's neck and was not letting go until it died. Once the knife came out I told him I couldn't be around and I would go get help.
I was terrified, mainly of 3 things....the old man getting me with his knife or a gun, the pitbull owner coming out with a weapon, or the possibility of the pitbull letting go and biting me since I was pulling the chain.
Next I got in my vehicle and had to explain this situation to my 4 year old son, who saw the entire thing. I found a policeman and let him know what happened and where.
So what would the OT have done? Looking back I kind of wish I wouldn't have stopped but the old man looked like he could have been injured. Once the knife was out I knew it was ending soon and I didn't want the old man or the pitbull owner to attack me.

If you see a pitbull loose and sprinting just shoot it. Don't think just shoot and answer questions later.
Those lockjaws kill. This is why they should be banned and the owner of that dogshould be charged with attempted murder.

I'm not going to lie, I was pretty shook up after it happened. Felt terrible for the old man.

I’d start kicking and stomping

At this point there is simply no getting around it. If you own that breed of dog you are just straight total garbage.

That won’t do a damn thing to a dog that strong.

God I hate that breed. They serve a purpose and that purpose should never be a pet.

Good on you. Those damned dogs are evil.

They are actually illegal to own in the city so I'm interested to see what happens. The old man's dog was such a nice looking dog. Just imagine being on a nice Saturday stroll and watching your dog die in front of you. The yard where the pitbull came from had other pitbulls chained up.
I do not understand the lifestyle of having pitbulls chained up with these massive logging chains.

I scolded a man in public yesterday when he was walking his pit bull around outside a busy and major shopping mall. I was sitting outside at a cafe, and I saw this dude further down the sidewalk. I got out of my seat, opened the little gate to leave the cafe, and walked over and ripped the guy to shreds. Told him that there are innocent children around and that he has no fricking business walking that piece of shite killing machine around. The man cursed me out, which brought attention to the scene and attracted a security guard to the confrontation. The guard immediately took my side ans said that only a person with very little judgement would even PONDER bringing such a beast into a public space like a fricking friday afternoon shopping mall. The guard kicked the man out of the area after taking his picture, and assured me that he would make sure the man is banned from the mall for the foreseeable future.
As I walked back to the cafe, I could already hear people cheering at my altruistic and humane deed. The amount of clapping appeared to be far more bountiful than the small number of people sitting outside of the cafe could muster with their hands, so I assumed that someone must have gone inside to tell the interior customers about what was going on. Feeling proud and worthy of applause, instead of simply sitting back at my seat, I chose to open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.

Depends on what boots I’m wearing and how fat I’m feeling that particular day

none of that shite happened.

I love to hear stories about owners getting mauled by their own pet. Freak that POS breed.

So did both dogs die?
When I left I assumed both died. It was intense, I am almost positive the pitbull died from the knife stabs and the pointer could have lived, he wasn't torn open but the pit was latched to his neck for a few minutes.

It 100% happened.
Edit.... Now I realize this wasn't directed at me.

I hate pitbulls. Always walk the other way if I ever see one. I don't care how well trained your pitbull is they all suck and are trashy
