This is the exact same as the post the other day. This dude setup a camera to monitor a candy bowl on halloween just so he could act all high and mighty because some kids took a few pieces of candy. Went thru all of this trouble to get social media praise but it will likely backfire on him. what an idiot.

Chances are he knows those kids don’t live in his neighborhood
If they do they are acting like hood rats
Taking extra candy is hood rat? That’s moronic.
Kids of all socio economic backgrounds take extra.

He’s right if you apply it to the majority of candy stealing and door pulllers turned car jackers turned armed robbers turned murders

Lol
You have some stats that show correlation?
What about kids that “trick?” That hood rat as well? How many are gonna turn out bad?
This is a bad hill to die on. You are coming off poorly. Not calling you a racist. But it’s bad hill.

There is no correlation between taking extra candy and further crime.
So you don’t think there is any correlation to bad parenting and home training leading to dysfunctional teens who Don’t have a good moral code (not in a religious sense but a societal one) and go on to more serious transgressions?
You don’t think that there should be any public shame or repercussions for small bad behaviours?

I ate a boudin ball there that tasted like hamburger helper or something...bears no resemblance whatsoever to boudin.

Okay, the post I saw he had posted that. But does it really matter what he called them? It’s calling out and shaming behaviour.
How do you shame or call them out of they don’t get the message?
Nope. He ranted. Lime a narcissist. He had no goal of helping change behavior.

God some of you people are dense.
Agreed. But it is you.

That’s a sweet deflection.
Correlation of candy to crime.

And his post does that? How?

I thought he was one of the original founders of the restaurant? Did he never own any part of the business that he and his buddy started? I would assume he was just owning his own franchise to make a little extra money, but that he also owned part of the overall business. And he complains about candy on FB?? I have seen that guy give away thousands of dollars worth of alcohol to random people at the Mullet Toss for at least a few years. It go so bad, that the Florabama bar complained to the city about it, because they were losing business to the Walkons set up giving away alcohol. I know he wasn't upset about the money when it comes to the candy, and more than likely he was upset at the whole principle of the thing, but even if he was super drunk at the time, he had to know posting that, as "famous" as he is around these parts, would NOT be a good idea for business. I also assume that this will add fuel to the whole thing when he closed the New Orleans location for upgrades or whatever, which just so happened to coincide with the Essence Festival on the same dates.
He was the owner of the Covington location, that’s it. He’s not a founder and has nothing to do with the New Orleans location.

I’ve always heard this forum is a safe harbor for racists. Looking at the percentage of people here who are defending this guy and saying he is not racist, I guess it’s true.
Yea because this site never criticizes white people or Livingston parish. Just because you can’t look beyond race to see different culture and individual dynamics in play in a situation don’t weakly label everyone racist.
I am not even sure if I agree the particular behavior is post worthy (I have seen multiple ones like usual on Halloween including i think one here that was reposted about a white mom and daughter doing it), but I don’t think it’s racism but a criticism of a local culture that he saw reflected in these kids and not in others that night. It’s debatable to use kids of any race taking candy in a post to make a larger point, but I think crying racism all the time is a lazy cop out for some and publicity for others.
I would be willing to bet most blacks in Louisiana and for sure across the world would be willing to admit the behavior of these kids wasn’t correct and does reflect too much of population in larger cities in Louisiana. I see them complain often enough about similar behavior. It’s only when homeowner is white that being critical of behavior becomes racist and news worthy. Part of the reason problem is not getting better is dismissing bad behavior when a white person criticizes it and assuming it’s about race. With a little irony it reminds me of clan mentality of infighting but circling wagons when another says the same.
If person had videos of whites doing same or of the far majority of black visitors not doing this, and then chose to just post the one time a group of black kids did this or doctored video to single out blacks it would show more proof of singling out blacks and racism. I have not seen proof of this yet.

No but it’s the black kids from neighborhoods across the city that come to the more affluent neighborhoods are usually the usuals that are taking handfuls of candy and in some cases the entire bowl. That’s what I would call hood/gehetto behavior. I deal with the same issues, that why we don’t leave empty bowls of candy in front of our house. We pass out every single piece of candy and we don’t let anyone, white or black allowed to grab a handful of candy. It’s usually the black kids we have the most issues with.

I’ve been around long enough to understand how some kids are raised and how they behave. I’m not as naive as you.

His hanging out at the Mullet Toss is all I need to know about this douchebag. He just lost a cash cow.

For the moment, I’m calling bs on this. It’s not that easy to terminate a franchise agreement. I’m not saying it’s not going to happen but it certainly can’t happen this quickly.
