This happens every day to people who make really bad mistakes. I am not saying it should happen in this situation but the idea that it shouldn't even be on the table is why stuff like this happens. I guarantee if he thought his pension was at risk for doing this none of this ever would have happened. He didn't care about how taking a scholarship opportunity could have affected her family and future.

From what I've heard, Becnel may have a daughter that was up for the same scholarship as kaylee, as well as a candidate for student of the year. Gotta get the competition out the way
This is SOP for LP schools, not just for Walker. School admin kids/favorites always get preferential treatment based on who their parents are or if they have a certain last name. Just like nepotism is rampant within the school board.

Yep
There's a lot of nervous administrators watching this story.

Such is life, if he and Ms. Becnel had stayed in their lanes they wouldn't be in this position.
I've known military officers whose retired grade is less than the grade they attained in service because they screwed up late in their career. Personally know of a one star whose retired grade is Lieutenant Colonel, you want to talk about a pay cut.
I have no sympathy for either of them and their actions post exposure IMO doesn't support any,
We of the OT need to keep the heat on and keep exposure going so they can't slip through the cracks.

But they still got some retirement. The guy earned his pension for the years worked. I’m ok with that. If he gets less bc he “retires” or was let go early, I agree with that, too.

Just like the 'lost scholarship' and 'held her for hours making her listen to scripture' there is a lot of people adding a lot of extra stuff that isn't needed. He is wrong. He needs to go and anyone else involved. If they tried to hide it, the whoever attempted it should go as well. The whole adding things that didn't happen or exaggerating what did to make it worse, when we have some pretty hardline facts from the articles and statements seems strange. tOT is turning into what they accuse other people of being with this story. A whole lot of 'unarmed', 'hands-up', 'not doing nothing' being added by OTers.

He probably has the sick days banked up and will retire after the school year.

The more I hear of this story the more I believe the principal was not in the wrong. The girl and her mom were hosting parties where underage drinking was allowed if not encouraged. Why should that girl keep a leadership position at school if she is essentially promoting theses behaviors. Just about any extracurricular activities have some type of moral clause and they should. As far as scripture reading is supposedly she brought up church and religion. The principal admitted to giving her some Proverb scripture about being valuable in Gods eyes. Oh noz. As far as a recommendation for a scholarship, it’s his recommendation and he can pull it for any reason.
I feel sorry for the girl for having a crappy parent who set a bad example and is trying to make a money grab.

Its well established that he was dead wrong.
However, it has since been verified that she was ineligible for the scholarship so his recommendation was irrelevant.
The rules for scholly specifically stated that early grads were ineligible. Not sure how this was missed by the counselor. Clearly stated on the Senate Scholarship webpage.

Only by the Facebook mobsters. It was all about her being “disciplined” for dancing and being preached to. Once everything kind of settles down, it comes out about underage alcohol and kids driving after drinking we’re part of the reasons for the removal from the student government. As far as preaching it comes out she brought up church, getting right etc.
