Apparently, this is a new thing. A guy playing an electric violin through an amplifier showed up at our Publix. The wife (no pics) said he sounded great. Was he a scammer or a musician busking for money? Who knows.

It's not new. It's just new to your area. It's been around for years.

Classic gypsy scam. If you see a speaker, it’s a fake violin recording.

I just park on top of them and drag my truck nuts across their face.

Probably. I didn't see him. The wife did and thought he was legit, until I showed her this report. Being a pretty logical person, she now isn't so sure.

What's funny is that someone posted about this on NextDoor -- how great he was and how everyone should support this him and his family. But when people post reports that scammers are doing this, those true believers get all defensive and insist it's legit and those who say it might not be are mean people. lol

NextDoor really shows you how many silly people live near you.

The music industry is in trouble if faking a performance is now a scam...

They have several that play in WalMart lots around Baton Rouge. I honestly didn’t realize that they were not actually playing…which is sad because as a kid, I played in the school band.

I really pissed off a few dumb chicks(high school friends) who were gushing over these faking fricktards a couple of years ago.

They definitely need to be called out.
They are NOT street musicians and the music they are 'playing' on that speaker is incredibly difficult to actually play.

Pieces of fake strumming shite, stringing people along and plucking money from their purse strings. Nothing more.

People should just bow up on them, or string them up.

I’d give money or food to an old school, legit hobo a lot quicker than I’d give it to a scammer or wino/addict. I’m talking a real hobo who camps on the outskirts of town and rides the rails. The ones who push a broom for 2 hours to afford an 8x12 four bit room. You know the type.

I don’t really care, if I like the music I’ll throw a couple bucks. At least not sitting in their rooms playing video games

You need to have a sit down with your wife Spot, before she signs you up for a car repair protection plan and radon insurance.
