Used cars and flood damage - thoughts? Sample pics

I am looking for an inexpensive used car and found one I like near the camp. It's a 15 year old sedan with 55,000 miles. The price was right. But then I saw this reddish-brown discoloration on the floorboard carpet in both rear areas and all four map pockets. This is a flood car probably? Thoughts?
The carpet should be the same color as the rest of the upholstery, that buttermilk biscuit color.
The car will be used mostly for grocery runs and errands during the week and maybe once per quarter 1000 mile round trip. It runs nice, shifts nice, etc... but that flood thing freaks me out. On the other hand it's not supposed to be a creampuff.

My FIL works for a local dealer. After the 2016 flood he bought a flooded Acura off the lot
Been driving it ever since
It all depends on how much water it got. An inch or two, probably OK.
3 feet and up to the dash, I wouldn’t buy

I'm no mechanic, but I've always heard to check under the seats. If the metal underside of seat is rusty, the water was too high. Other consideration is that some cars put electronics and computers under seat and once that gets wet, a whole different set of issues comes up...

Update - he told me this was a local car and our camp is a few hours out of Chicago. One owner.
I traced the vin and turns out this was a NOLA car. So the dude is a bald faced liar and it was possibly in NOLA for Katrina.

Could that be from a coke or coffee cup that was crammed in there and it spilled?
