There's alot cool lightning out there. Hell, with the development in photography technology, more discoveries are being made pretty often.

Sprites have more of a reddish hue and fan out in a “mushroom” shape. Like this
Blue jets are more cylindrical and have the blue tint. The image below shows different types of lightning, including the two.
That looks closer to what was captured by the ISS
