Please tell me your puppy is eating and playing today. What's her name??

Twix. We have another named Hershey so it kinda went with the theme. She’s seems to be eating okay and the stool looks okay. I’m at the vet now just to be sure.

Let us know. How can I be so sad for puppies and the OP that I don't even know. Ugh. Hope his lab is ok as well.

Ole guard dog Hershey.

No appetite at all and very lethargic in the ones we had to put down.
The one we're still trying to save was pretty active, eating well, and seemed to be doing ok. I think as long as it’s caught in time, they have a reasonable shot to be ok. At least that’s what the medical staff at the vet told us. Keep her hydrated. Pedialite is huge. Someone told me that force-feeding her a raw egg will help keep nutrients in her body.

Keep clorox wipes handy at all times, good on you for doing your best for the one that still has a chance.

Twix just tested positive for Parvo. I’m going to try outpatient treatment. Doc gave her a couple shots and sent me home with some meds. I’m gonna keep her pumped full of pedialyte and I bought some fancy dog food in a can that she devoured like a Somali kid at the KFC. She seems to be doing well. Some diarrhea yesterday but today’s poop is a lot more solid. She’s exploring the backyard right now.

did you have any other dogs at home?
Posted on 11/8/17 at 1:42 pm to Chad504boy
Yeah I have a 10 year old miniature poodle. Doc said she should be good because she’s been vaccinated. I’ll keep them separated for the time being though.

Terrible news. I’m so sorry GT. Don’t give up hope.

I feel pretty good about her chances

Do not mix parvo dogs with others. Even if you can, don't let them share the same yard. Parvo virus is in their feces and will retain in a yard for a long time.
As far as feeding them and getting them to overcome it, it is surely possible. You must try to force feed them as much as possible. If they are eating on their own, fine. But try things like a mix of rice and boiled chicken.
This has helped us save a number of parvo fosters we have had. Once they get over it, they will be 100% fine.

We've been reading a lot about keeping our last girl pumped full of Pedialite and using a syringe to get food into her system. Earlier, we administered a stirred raw egg (a few tablespoons) which she absolutely loved and some pedialite. Basically, we've learned that keeping fluids and nutrients into their system is the key. We also have been administering the fluids that the clinic gave us by injecting the solution into the skin of her back and basically making a "fluid-hump" where she looks like a little camel. She still seems to be doing fine. Active, eating, playing.
God i'm hoping this one pulls through. You've been pretty into this thread so I figured i'd give you an update on that.

I accidentally downvoted your post. Sorry. I hope the last one makes it.

While we haven't rescued 9 puppies all at once as you have, we've done a bunch of times, and I just hate to see parvo. It's just tough. Once, we were picking up a litter of 8 puppies that had been dropped at the pound, by the time we got to themabout a day later, they had already put down 2 due to parvo symptons. Of the 6 we got that day, one was acting pretty bad, that I am 100% sure they would have put down later that day.
Ultimately, that dog became one of our "foster failures", for various reasons and we ended up keeping him. He's a wonderful dog now and he has a great spirit about him.. Somehow more friendly than our others. maybe he remembers how close he came to being put down.
Good luck with what you are doing.

Best of luck to Twix and your one remaining pup. I hope all the others who were adopted are doing well and have been tested.
