I would suggest buying one of those pulse ox meters at CVS or Walgreens. They are pretty cheap (like $50) and that way you can monitor the oxygen in your blood and make sure you aren’t struggling.

Feeling worse will be enough of an indicator to head to the ED. No need to do that

Once some of these stories get out about Louisiana refusing to test. It will get ugly in a hurry.

Last update for the night:

The head of the conference I attended last week sent out an email alert tonight to everyone who attended that approximately 15% of the 100 attendees are now experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19. All 15 of those attendees have seen physicians and they have instructed everyone who attended the conference to go into an immediate 14 day self-quarantine whether they are experiencing symptoms or not. All this from one bartender who served everyone drinks at the bar.

What was the date of the conference and where was it? How did you find out about the bartender having it?

Hope it doesn’t get too bad for you!

Conference was last week in a city where a lot of tourists & conferences go during the Winter. I received a notice from the head of the conference this morning about the bartender who tested positive.

I'm feeling a little better so think the worst is over thanks to the medication I'm taking. I'm moving from a feeling bad 7 out of 10 to feeling okay 3 out of 10 tonight.

I contracted the virus from a bartender out of state who served us drinks so I would suggest not going to any restaurants...

You risk exposure wether you get your food from a restaurant or you get it from a grocery store. A grocery store has a whole other set of risks.

Hopefully grocery stores as well as bars/restaurants have implemented appropriate procedures now that we know more about this thing. Also hopefully the employees themselves are more aware and utilizing better practices

Texas still has very busy festivals that are currently banned in Louisiana going on.

WTF does it matter what city it was in because its all over the US now. It is not as if I caught it in some isolated town in the Yukon because every state now has at least one confirmation. Generally it was in a city over 6k feet in elevation with a transient tourist population.

What medications are helping? I saw tamiflu on first page but wasn't sure if something changed or added since then especially focusing on symptoms.
