Just from skimming the comments, life's pretty rough out there for turtles around gators. Probably NSFW

I prefer eating fried alligator, but have enjoyed some good turtle soups.

Just my input on this Turtle vs Alligator debate.

Imagine digesting a turtle shell or hell, having a shattered one in your belly

Gator jaws are up there with several croc species in jaw strength. I think only the Nile, saltwater and mugger crocs are stronger. Get a 60 year old male gator that's 12-13 foot, and it's even closer.

Salties, nile, orinoco, american, and mugger are all much heavier per given length than an alligator.

That turtle hopping away would make a pretty good "nope, nope, nope" or "out" gif.

The speed and agility of that gator was only surpassed by the athleticism of that turtle speed-hopping away.

Popping that shell is like cracking open a beer for the gator.

Gators and Crocs have the strongest digestive systems on the planet. I saw a video of some antelope crossing a river in Africa and the crocs grabbed a big male and started fighting over it. One of the crocs ripped the head off and swallowed it whole, big antlers included.

Would have been funny if it had been a snapping turtle and it latched onto the gators tongue.
