Let the naming begin.
The disturbed weather than moved across Mexico, across the Gulf, drenched Southern Florida and now moving out to sea has been named Alex.

Aren’t certain insurance plans based on a named storms for coverage? Or did they eliminate that?

I mean what are they supposed to not name a Tropical Storm because it wasn’t a tropical storm before it hit Florida?

Yes, if you have damaged causes by a named storm, your deductible will double, triple, maybe more

But when it was over Florida it was not named. So, which deductibles would apply?

Likewise, if a hurricane struck Louisiana and then moved inland and lost its name, but caused as much damage in the northeast as along the coast. Which deductible would apply in that situation for residents in the the northeast?

Asking for a friend to illustrate how ludicrous the insurance industry and weather forecasting has become.
