Tree inequality is rampant in cities, can you guess who it's affecting?

Low income people and people of color

The vast majority of lower-income urban neighborhoods across the U.S. have fewer trees per capita than higher-income neighborhoods, an inequity that contributes to higher temperatures, poor health outcomes and, in some cases, premature death.

My god -
I truly believe this will continue and eventually even people on the left will have enough. We're not close to critical mass yet though, so buckle up.

Who woulda thought if you build a concrete jungle that you have to cut down trees?

So taxpayers have to handle landscaping for poor people now?

This just in, higher income equates to better neighborhoods. Who knew?

Trees or lack of is a good way to tell what kind of neighborhood you are in

Let’s not allow people to adjust to the environment. Let’s make the environment adjust to them.

Is there some magical force that is stopping people from lower income neighborhoods from planting their own trees?

So do we need to teach the disadvantaged how to dig a damn hole?
Posted on 4/30/21 at 8:57 am to LoneStar23
So lower income neighborhoods don't look as nice as higher income neighborhoods?
Shocking

Correlation = causation. No further examination required.

Honestly in New Orleans this is totally true. I've even pointed this out on my own to people who visit. You can tell when you go from one neighborhood to the next because the sky basically opens up on top of you from uptown to central city. With uptown being more wealthy and central city being less wealthy.
ETA: this is true for other areas in the city as well.

Yet the same people complaining about this want to force everyone to live in urban centers.
