When I was at LSU, Caines had two things on the menu and they were both $5

A chick finger box or a chicken sandwich box

it better than Taco Bell? Then send one to Lexington.

What, there are taco trucks and drive through of immigrants from Mexico that have kick arse tacos. Taco Time..Ramirez (on Alexandria Dr) and trucks on every corner of gas stations in Lexington that blow away Qdoba or Chipotle and is cheaper.

Baton Rouge has great tacos spots...where the Mexicans live in Baton Rouge.

Your head is buried in the sand. Hurricane Katrina influx has yielded plenty of local authentic Mexican and Tex Mex restaurants in BR, especially in Ascension Parish. There are 3 incredible authentic and cheap Mexican restaurants within 3 miles of the I-10@30 exit at Tanger. And several permanent food trucks on Airline a little farther away.

It's a simple and convenient response to shite on Baton Rouge(Metro) but this is one thing we DO HAVE.

I've found that the best tacos around here are at hole in the wall Mexican places where almost nobody speaks English. El Tio is legit.

You're correct. The best taco in town is at the chick in a trailer on Aster and Nicholson next to the gas station.

Anyone with a cost effective taco alternative to the Bell could grab sone market share pretty easily.

We need Del Taco and Taco Bueno here in Louisiana. That's what you're looking for. Fast drive through, open late, and barely more expensive than Taco Bell.

Yeah El Rey sucks I think. Sunrise next to the Shell on Memorial that was mentioned earlier has pretty legit breakfast tacos

People try to compare it to their local taco shops but it’s fine for what it is. It doesn’t really deserve hype or hate.

La Salvadorena on Nicholson is pretty good. But you have to like authentic Salvadoran style cuisine

Eaten there once, had one decent taco. The rest of the food was rather meh.

Diablo sauce on everything.

Actually had torchys on Saturday night. My only regret is that I didn't order more.
