Yeah just what we need, more overpriced Mexican food. I rather just go to the Mexican place run by Mexicans. Get like 4 tacos for $4.

Pretentious tacos
My educated Latino friends call them “boutique tacos”. Taco Mel, on the other hand, holy shite! Good authentic tacos. I also used to enjoy taco cabana when I lived in Fort Worth.

I think this will be great for them.

While the South is littered with taco options, I think these would flourish PNW/Midwest. Less taco options, and they actually have decent food if not pricey.

at all the people in this thread trying to compare it to tex mex tacos. Its not suppose to be Texmex, its 'new american' style. Also, i have never found torchys to be pricey. Its prices are about the same as most fast casual restaurants and the quality imho is a tad higher.

Taquerias. Little ones in Mexico are awesome, and cheap.

I had it once and found it underwhelming. But live in a place where really good Mexican is a dime a dozen.

I like Torchy’s. Great queso. That is why we go when we visit there. Tacos are nothing special

What makes it awesome is the quirky staff who have tattoos from head to toe and are cool as shite to talk to you at the bar.
In your opinion maybe.

Not everyone might share it.

Torchys is good but even before this expansion, quality varies from location to location.

I wish them the best, but I can’t understand how a taco shop can be streamlined enough to be competitive in any market. Braised meat, fresh tortilla, and some salsa and you have a street taco.

Real Mexican food is amazing and extremely cheap to make. Best tacos I’ve had were TLT tacos at UCLA. Braised short ribs, pork belly, fried chicken, carne Asada, fresh tortillas and an assortment of fresh salsas. $3-$4 a taco and beers on tap.

I noticed the quality drop as well. I just thought it was because that’s what Shreveport seems to do to restaurants.
