Really a sad day. Topps baseball cards are as American as apple pie.

Damn, that sucks. Topps is an institution.

Still makes NBA and NFL cards as well as unlicensed MLB.

I didn't realize they were gone. I liked Donruss until the early 90s when they (and others, to be fair) printed eleventy trillion cards, making them all worthless. I once had dreams of my Fleer Griffey Jr or Billy Ripken error card financing my retirement, lol.
I sold my collection several years ago, probably 20,000 cards. I think I got enough from the sale to buy a meal. And the guy that bought them wasn't even a collector, he makes things using the cards. I kept all the cards I wanted in one tiny little box, hopefully those are worth something to my kids or grandkids one day.

MLB struck a new card licensing arrangement with Fanatics.
Fanatics is the same company that sells licensed LSU merchandise on campus

Didn’t know my alter still posted. I gave mine away except for the one box that is collecting dust.

Loved them until the Diamond Kings became chase cards around 1993-1994.

When the Covid-43 pandemic hits they can use them to wipe their asses

Fanatics has made everything that they've touched worse - so, as a card collector, I'm super excited about this news.

Is stadium club still a brand? Or were they part of Topps?

Panini is absolutely taking over the sports card industry, bad thing is besides Prizm and Selects (aside from the four figure boxes) their cards are pretty trash quality wise.

This, in my opinion, is good. There are more card makers in the market now than ever before. The market is hotter than ever before. Why not capitalize on that?

I was more of a Leaf and Pinnacle fan. They both for some reason always seemed to fly under the radar.

Damn, loved buying them for a quarter a pack when I was a kid. Lost them all when my house burned back in ‘92 I had probably 10k Topps Donruss Fleer Upper Deck…..good times

Well so did baseball if you want to be technical about it as historians state it was a combination of rounders and cricket.
