Only thing out there is a fish storm turning posttropical today and some piss off Africa that wont do anything.

Current ACE is 50% climo average and about to be a lot less than than with all looking quiet for the next week or so

Please light a candle to thank our benevolent god Cthulhu for blessing us with calm so far this year. I also believe we should sacrifice Oweo as a tribute for a continued quiet season.

We don’t need a reason.

That’s called “addition by subtraction”.

Once those fronts start rolling in, like Monday, always makes me feel much better.

The weather gods would be furious and Louisiana would get a Cat 5.

Can’t feel safe until Front Day

TulaneLSU definition of Front Day:
quote:

As you well know, the definition of Front Day is the first Saturday in New Orleans after a long and hot summer. The weather must be sunny. The high should be in the 70s and a low must be 60 or lower. The dew point will be in the 50s or lower. Usually there is a wind with a northern component. On some Front Days, it feels like it is the first time in months you can go outside and suck in a full breath of fresh and clean air.

This seems like a great time to look back at NOAA’s prediction for the 2022 hurricane season: LINK
quote:

Forecasters at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, a division of the National Weather Service, are predicting above-average hurricane activity this year — which would make it the seventh consecutive above-average hurricane season. NOAA’s outlook for the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, which extends from June 1 to November 30, predicts a 65% chance of an above-normal season, a 25% chance of a near-normal season and a 10% chance of a below-normal season. For the 2022 hurricane season, NOAA is forecasting a likely range of 14 to 21 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), of which 6 to 10 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including 3 to 6 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher). NOAA provides these ranges with a 70% confidence.

Won’t be surprised if UF cancels the LSU game.
