To what extent do you separate your work/personal life?

Is your job a big part of your personality? Are you able to put it out of your mind when you go home?
Once I leave work I turn it off. My wife has a vague idea of what I do and knows the company I work for. My brother is my only family member who knows exactly what I do. Most of my friends/hunting buddies don't know what I do. It's not even that I do it on purpose, I just don't consider it to be an important part of my personality other than funding my BS hobbies.

Basically the same for me.

Yes.
Nothing worse than the guy at the party that wants to talk about his job all the damn time.

I don't like thinking about work at work, much less at home.

When I leave the office on Friday at 5, I completely forget what I do for a living. Every Monday on the drive back in, I have to reprogram my brain to remember what I was working on the previous week. It takes me 10-15 minutes when I get in to figure where I am on everything and get rolling for the week. I completely separate from work. I feel sorry for people who can't do that.

TOTAL! I only get CEU's/dp research while at work, aside from telling my wife about hectic days I don't talk about my work...hell sometimes when traveling I make up an occupation so people don't ask about my work

Work is a big part of me. I’m constantly on call and juggling job duties even when I’m at home. My coworkers are my family and a big part of my social life too.

My job is also my hobby. So I'm usually messing around with a new exploit on my home lab after work for a bit so I know what to look for at work.

I wouldn't say work is something I constantly think about, but mostly blurry boundaries between work/home make for a much more relaxed lifestyle for me overall.
I can shut work off completely if need be, but I'd rather be vaguely available for any work issues that arise and be gone from the office longer/more often.

I don't separate as much as I should. I work from home and work in a different time zone than any other person in our company. So its hard to not reply or answer a call 7:30 pm my time, knowing its 4:30 in CA where they are calling from.
Weekends I try to just let work be, but I've been known to work a Saturday or two, or answer a text/email.

I know it's cliché, but I work to live, I don't live to work.
Some people in my life have a vague idea of what I do, but I really don't even like when people ask what I do because I try to explain it and most of them still don't understand.
I couldn't be one of those people who have lives that revolve around their work. I very rarely talk about work when I'm not there. My wife on the other hand, is friends with a lot of people in her field and discusses her work with them constantly. She's also probably way better at her job than I am at mine because of it

I keep work completely separate from my personal life.

My work life and personal life are very separate (on purpose).
I would recommend this strategy to anyone else who can make it happen.
Decisions I made at work didn't bleed into my family life.
My personal friends know what I do for a living but there's never any interaction from a business standpoint with them.
Which is good, "one less thing" as Forrest said.

I'm rarely if ever fully detached from work. It's better than it used to be now that I have better managers working under me, but its kind of always in the background to some extent.

Probably a medium for me.
I do things outside of working hours because it allows me a whole lot more freedom during work hours. If taking care of a task or two from the sofa while I'm watching TV at night allows me to wrap up my day at 3pm the next day and hit up happy hour, I personally feel it is well worth it.
If you work for someone that expects you to be chained to your desk chair until 5:00 every day no matter what, I definitely understand checking out when you're not there as there is no reward or incentive.
