Yep. The feminist community deciding that "rapist" was as powerful as "racist" and trying to similarly distort the meaning of the term was honestly pretty brilliant.
I do think it'll be beaten back more easily, but it was a shrewd move. "Sexist" just didn't have enough oomph.

This. I highly recommend it, it's a great and very readable book on the topic of mass movements and the people who tend to join them.
FWIW, it describes mass movements of any persuasion - SJW's, Progressives, Tea Partiers, etc.

I had a philosophy professor in college. Brilliant man, probably the most brilliant man I know. He was my mentor.
Anyways, we were talking one day about power. I think we had just finished The Prince. He was going on and on and he said, "If you want to conquer the world, you don't need arms. You just need to change the dictionary."
