School in Indiana

Who knows what the cost is now but as a parent I’d think it’s worth looking into.

That's great and all, but we should address why we need that in the first place. Kinda like a Chef lauding over a great bandaid because he keeps cutting himself prepping veggies. Learn knife skills and you wont need an awesome bandaid.

They say $400,000 in the video. Thinking if a company mass produced for every school, better technology today, price could stay roughly the same....

Just an FYI - if we took the $40B we sent to Ukraine, we could have one of these in every public school (97,650 of them) in the country

That will take time to address though. Deterrence measures have immediate effects.

I have first had knowledge of this system. School boards dont want to spend the cost per student is what it comes down to. Sad

apparently, it costs $400,000. which is funny, i started a thread on the poli-board stating that there was almost 100,000 public schools in the country. divide the $40 billion we just gave Ukraine and you get the $400,000.

Cheaper than paying for two armed security guards with benefits for 4 years I would imagine.

Then we need to ALL call our congressmen and senators to demand federal funding for this kind of stuff at all schools. Also, I like what someone else posted a couple nights ago - ProtecdED. It’s a bullet proof bookcase that’s used as a bookcase and placed near every door in a classroom. It has a special mechanism that allows you to quickly roll it over the door (they’re taller and wider than the doors) then it locks into place. Nobody can see or shoot through it.

WHY IS THIS KIND OF shite NOT IN EVERY SCHOOL IN AMERICA???

We need to rise up and demand federal funding for this - not $40 billion of aid to fricking Ukraine.

Contact your congressman
Contact your senator

I just emailed Kennedy, Cassidy, and Graves. Fun but not so surprising fact: Cassidy has an option for "Gun Control" as a topic subject and Kennedy and Graves have an option for "2nd Amendment". Of course Cassidy wants to hear about gun control

s/ I agree we should remove the metal detectors at airports too and focus on outreach to groups that wish us harm. /s

Hell, we could do ~625 of them with the money some of these states pissed away on fraudulent unemployment payments to random Nigerians.

Well, you were gonna pay 300k for some cameras, so you can't be to hard on them.

So basically, with the $40B we sent to Ukraine, we could have these in every school. Take $10B from the $660B defense budget (by eliminating waste) and we can have a $100,000/yr trained LEO at each school

No joke, I would be fully in favor of this. We need some politicians, i dont care which side, to bring as a bill to the House. Make it happen.

The only thing that scares me is what about the stragglers. There's bound to be some poor kids who werent in class at the time, and now theyre stuck in the hallway unable to get into a classroom as everything is locked.

"The system is expensive, $400,000.00."

quote:

97,568 public schools

$40 billion in Ukraine aide

Divide that out and you get:

$409,970.48 per school.

frick our politicians and every last one of them.

Not what I meant. I mean the underlying problems will not be addressed and we will apply another bandaid and move on until it happens again. Personally, I don't like the idea that kids have to go to a fortress because we have fricksticks running around killing people and we can't figure out another way to prevent it. For the record, I am not a counseling, social work type guy.
