What happened to Reagan's FAR program to use commercially available products? How long until "I am sorry, but we can't deliver your mail because all the windows were broken during the protest. They are special order and it will be 3 months before we are back in service."

Looks just as stupid as the current one.

Maybe they should put that money into better training for their employees instead of a truck revamp.

Somebody has a brother-in-law that owns a windshield repair/replacement company with an exclusive contract.

My mail lady uses an old 91 Jeep Cherokee. They seem to last forever, along with 80s Toyota pickups. Just tune-up & retrofit a bunch of those bad boys.

FUGLY. Who makes these decisions? Did they purposely choose the ugliest design? I miss the Jeeps from my childhood. They are the GOAT delivery vehicle.

Wonder how much I can pick up an old one for. Went to high school with a girl that had an old mail Jeep she drove and her sister and brother had them too. They all drove them through college. Their front yard looked like a post office.

Are they electric? Seems like a delivery truck would be ideal for that application.

I'm sure the USPS has the money to spend on a mail car revamp

Sometimes as a company, you have to spend money on capital improvements even when you don't "have it". The LLVs have served them pretty well given the oldest ones are 34 years old and the newest ones 27. There are very few companies that can make do with the same fleet for that long.

We are all used to the current ones, but they are horrible looking so don’t really care if these look ugly at first glance

Well at least they’ll be able to see out of that windshield

Soooo much forehead, so little bill.

Just asking for trouble driving that thing around La in the winter time ever since Ducks Unlimited put them nets up.
