Never been a cat guy, but I’m addicted to instagram reels of cats slapping the crap out of people and each other. But if I ever get a cat, it would have to be a Savannah.

We had an indoor/outdoor dog and indoor cats that got along. Dogs are great while cats are……odd.
Our tuxedo cat was awesome, liked people, and wanted to be near us. She sat on our laps and was very gentle. Another cat would just make an appearance to stare at and project death wishes to me. Both have passed on and I’m fine with no cats in the house.

It’s true what they say about cats: your house will stink
We have a multiple indoor cat(3) household. One of them being a tuxedo as well, beautiful, smart, and great personality. Most owners due become somewhat nose blind to their own brand. But, a lidded litter box with a charcoal filter and most importantly, the CRYSTAL variety cat litter. Complete game changer because it actually works as opposed to clay based litter. Yes, it is pricey as compared to the clay based litters on the market, but worth every penny for performance.
Love my boys, neutered male cats are the only option. Female cats like the overwhelming majority of their gender are completely neurotic and cannot get along with other females.

The category is almost always dictated by the owner.
Exactly. Some people are simply not suited to owning any pets. One of my tabbies I took in from my fiancée's apartment neighbor almost 10 years ago. She would scream and kick at him when he was just trying to play, made him very aggressive at times. Took a few years but he's calm, sweet, and friendly to anyone now. My other tabby I adopted from a co-worker in 2016 has always been calm and purrs loudly if you as much look at him. Same goes for dogs, if their owners have no discipline then the dog is going to have issues too and both will have houses that stink from it.

We had a cat for a few years and he was cool. He loved those little crinkle balls and he would sit at the top of the stairs and wait for me to throw one up to him. He'd go get it, set it down right at the edge of the top step and slap it down the stairs.

What about the ones that go absolutely ape shite around the house at 3 in the morning?
Those become “outdoor” cats.

We had our indoor-only cat for 18 years before she got a brain tumor and we had to put her to sleep last year. She was kind-of a bitch when she was a kitten but turned into a very cool cat by the time she was 5 or so. 18 years is a long time to live with a pet and it was painful to let her go. We still miss her...

After some thought, I have to disagree. It’s not an either/or in my opinion.
Cats have more variety in personality than just cool or bitch.
But there is some truth in what you say. a-hole cats can be pretty intolerable, but really friendly “people” cats are pretty cool.
Overall, I find it best to not expect too much from a cat. It’s a totally different relationship than with a dog.

We call our cat the Stair Troll because she sits on the stairs waiting on someone to walk by to randomly take swipes at us with her still clawed paws. She's pretty cool, but also pretty aggressive. My little boys are kind of scared of her

Usually cats who grew up hunting and surviving for any length of time on their own are very appreciative of humans. Domestic cats are the ones who are extra picky/bitchy.

have to agree, most carts are either affectionate attention seekers or loners who are spastic and always act semi feral not wanting to be touched

I live in the country. Last year, a beautiful white cat showed up out of no where. It started purring and came up to my chair wanting petting. I like cats but don't keep any since we live close to the hwy. Anyway I went to pet it and the fricker went ballistic and attacked my arm. Luckily I had a heavy duty jacket on or it would have shredded my arm. Cats are just so bi-polar.
