Because every business is a big corporation right?

Or maybe staring down the barrel of a life of shite jobs with no benefits should spur people to take their education and skills training seriously so that they develop marketable traits that can get them better paying jobs. You're probably trying to be empathetic, but you're ignoring human nature.

Ive been applying to remote jobs, cant even get a call back.

It feels similar to the second time I got laid off. Put out a bunch of applications and no call backs or interviews.

I keep hearing work shortage, I honestly believe its just for dead end jobs.

And the jobs im applying for arent even of BAW status.

Some of those shot jobs for shite pay are required for basic society to function,

So that is justification to pay them below a living wage where most are forced to seek welfare assistance to supplement their income?

You already said those jobs are necessary for society to function, and now you say they’re low value jobs. Which is it?

He's cloaking an entitled and elitist viewpoint with criticism of corporations. Like I said in my other post, he just flat doesn't understand human nature nor how an economy works.

Your pay is not based on how important you job is, it's based on how many people in the workforce are capable of doing what you're being asked to do.

Your job can be very important, but if 75% of the population could do it, your skillset isn't rare thus not as valuable thus not as highly compensated.

Both. It’s an easy job to do in that literally anyone can do it. However just because anyone can do it doesn’t mean it’s not essential.

Without government supplementing/paying people for simply existing, these jobs would be filled.

Being a McDonald’s fry cook is not supposed to be a career. The problem is that certain people have no desire to work hard and advance themselves. These days anyone with half of a brain and any work ethic could be a manager quickly, probably within a month or two.

They just don't understand. I was raised that if I want something, go get it. If i'm incapable of getting it, go and improve myself until I can. These people live in constant victimhood which is a crying arse god forsaken shame because everyone has some level of talent and skill at something that can make them productive. We have just told people for so long that it doesn't matter what you do, the world is out to get you and you'll never succeed that we have robbed millions of people of their potential. It's nauseating especially because that attitude is put out there under the guise of "empathy and having a heart for people."

Let's make an assumption. It is now October. Many states have ended the enhanced unemployment programs. What if there is still a labor shortage? You can't blame it on over generous unemployment programs anymore. What will the official excuse be? Do we now embrace illegal immigration?

Absolutely. If I tell someone from birth that they're stupid, they'll probably grow up believing they're stupid. Likewise, if I tell a person from birth that they'll never succeed and no matter what they do, the world is out to get them and it doesn't matter how hard they try, they'll eventually give up too.

I can see why you're struggling with this so much. You flat don't understand even basic economics.

Correct, it's almost like there are so many people being raised in single parent homes that lead to less educational and economic achievement that you'd expect people are being subsidized/rewarded for not being sexually responsible and planning for a family before having kids. Oh wait.....
