this irony in this post is strong.
you were drunk (high on alcohol which kills thousands of people in the US every year) and are now complaining about a drug that has literally never killed a single person as being unhealthy, bc you ate too much that one time and had a bad time

While I’m not opposed to decriminalizing weed, doesn’t just about every city do this now?
Louisville passed a city ordinance that effectively decriminalized if its under an ounce and you're not committing "any other crime". The problem is, "any other crime" can be something as simple as speeding. And LMPD says they won't recognize the ordinance because they are beholden to state statue so it's a lame duck ordinance.
And unfortunately, our state legislators are fricking stupid when it comes to marijuana. The look at it from a "morality" standpoint and purposely torpedoed attempts to even legalize medically by adding a bunch of amendments to the bill that would've made it the strictest marijuana bill to ever pass a state legislature.

So youre ok with drunks on the road?

I always find that whatboutism funny (but what about alcohol). Alcohol is significantly more harmful to the body and society than marijuana. Yet we're ok as a society expecting people to exercise responsibility in its usage. Or are ok with the incredibly wide span of stimulant usage among teens AND adults with caffeine (a stimulant with withdrawal symptoms and potential to kill as well).
But it's the weed, man that's gonna wreck society.

Jokes on you because legalization will just make it more expensive.
No it won't. If you think so you haven't paid attention to prices across the country nor knewxwhat they were before.
It's cheaper with competition. Get off the dabs brah.

I love the "conservative" state reps that pissed and moaned over the government coming between patients and doctors will only pass medical MJ bills that have insane restrictions on who, how, and why MJ is prescribed/recommended by doctors. I guess government coming between a patient and their doctor is cool in that instance.

Common sense.
Competition can only bring prices down. Marijuana will never be worth more than gold as it was for many many years.

It's real insult to injury living in a state with some of the highest cancer rates in the country AND also one of the hardest hit in the opioid epidemic.

This is what the republican (a doctor with ownership interests in a few pharmacies in his area) who ran for governor in Louisiana last go round had to say about marijuana:
quote:
As a physician, let me tell you. What I see in my practice, from any level of marijuana use, is bad. I'm against recreational, I'm against medical. In the medical profession, for these chronic pain, poor cancer patients that need help, we have other alternatives that work better, Dilaudid, OxyContin, you name it, Oxycodone, we have several options that do a much better job for chronic pain.

there a difference or do you wanna split hairs over implementation?
The fact that she doesn't actually want M4A is a pretty big problem for progressives

it's all stupid and wrong.
No what's wrong is the US not getting on board with the rest of the devloped world when it comes to healthcare

the establishment IS progressive,
Say it again still isn't true

theyre radicals
Radical only to people on the right if you actually looked outside the American political sphere you'd realize that the US as a whole is heavy right leaning. Even people like Bernie would be considered center left in Europe.

lefties think I'm a rightie
Well when you start saying things like Obama is progressive and people like Bernie are far left Marxists it's kind of hard to not group you into them.

being anti war is not a negative thing.
How on Earth did you come to that conclusion I said being anti war was a trait progressives had which is something people like Obama, Clinton, and Biden are lacking

Which doesn't do shite for appetite. Which is what a lot of cancer patients use it for.

Great points. Things none of us had in the best pot states.
Safety of not being robbed or making sure your dealer isn't shorting you a few points.

We adopted a dog about a year ago. I walk her every morning and every night. I never realized how many burners live in my neighborhood. At night, some of the streets smell like a Cheech and Chong movie.

The MORE act is coming up for a House vote this month. It would reschedule Marijuana from Sched 1 and leave it up to the states to legalize it.
LINK
It was introduced and supported by House Democrats, thus it's extremely unlikely to pass in our partisan world today.
ETA: Only one Republican co-sponsored it. No one from Louisiana.

Rescheduling it would be huge from a research standpoint. I had an ex whose cousin was a doctor at UK that found THC could help regenerate intestinal lining in those with Crohns. But they hit a wall in further expanding their research because of the ridiculous restrictions due to its scheduling.

Not really. It's like if I had a war against racoons and was trapping them, but the wife keeps letting them go.
I caught the raccoons and all I needed to do was fricking kill them and they would never have been a problem anymore....but she let them go.
That’s an insane analogy.

I’m against it, but would be ok if Trump did it just to see the Dems flip their stance and say it will stack dead bodies on the streets. It would be glorious to just watch the hypocrisy unfold.
