I don't understand why they changed the name of the Saintsations. That was a hell of a lot better name than The Cheer Krewe. LAME. Sounds like a 1st grader came up with that.
The Wokesations and Black Lives Lager would have been better replacement names for the Saintsations and Dixie Beer.

Despite what a lot of posters are saying about it being "woke" or "pro-gay", it's pretty much the opposite.
Gayle Benson is an EXTREMELY conservative woman, very religious in her views and connections. She spoke at my daughters' high school (Dominican) and according to them, Gayle's whole spiel was more about being ladylike and chaste, rather than aspirational, e.g. "you can be anything if you set your mind to it".
Shortly after Tom died, one of the first things she did to the Pelicans dance team was take them out of hot pants-style shorts or short skirts with an underwear cover, and put them in long pants, kind of like yoga pants. I remember reading somewhere at the time, it was HER call to take them to a more conservative, "prim and proper" visual look:
Then this season, the dance team is GONE. Completely.
I went to the Saints game Thanksgiving night, and sure enough, the Saintsations are now wearing the same kind of long pants:
And now we are hearing about the end of the Saintsations and the replacement with this different kind of group, this "Saints Cheer Krewe".
Essentially what she is doing is replacing the (in her mind) "hotsie-totsie" sexpot group that started with such things as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Laker Girls, etc. and replacing them with the equivalent of an LSU (or other college) cheerleading squad- about half and half men and women, emphasis on acrobatics and gymnastics (stunters) and less on women doing provocative dancing in revealing outfits.
