Who controls zoning in the St. George area now? Who would control it if St. George incorporates?

I didn't say there was. I looked at the link and posted that it's around 5k to 6k per child to attend those schools. That is much larger than a cell phone and cable bill per year as the poster claimed.
I'm saying that if you have more than 1 kid then you'll be paying a lot for private school.

Do you honestly believe I would post my home address on here? If so, once again you prove your total and complete nescience.
You claim to own 9 acres on highland road(worth millions). I can think of a few lots that may have that kind of acreage, and you don't own one of them. You are a compulsive liar and your real life is nothing like your 70k posts on TD want us to believe.

The big ugly that comes from leaving and it being taken over by the truly rotten in society, and then those old people for instance who are left because they have a vested interest in the area become held hostage in their own homes. This comes from leaving it to rot. So yeah, the big nasty takes over.
Leave your house abandoned for a while and see if when you return to check on it that mice, raccoons, squirrels, birds, ants, roaches and shite haven't taken up residence in it. I guess they must say to themselves, well shite, since they apparently have no interest in it, we just found a new home.

then quit saying that for every kid it will cost 6-9K...you can't assume that we know what you are thinking. if you mean more than one kid, say that!

and you don't own one of them.
This may be the first time you've ever posted a correct statement in any of the St George threads. Congratulations!

His numbers were very close. At most he's off by 20%. But, there are private schools definitely within his range. And, his point definitely still stands.

This I can agree with. I live in the middle of the city and deal with walk up crime from around McKinley's neighborhood but I'm willing to stay because I already tried the cheap constructed suburb life.
However, more and more our local government likes to ram garbage like CATS and our ever changing public school lottery. I've been considering moving out of the area/state for the first time in my life.

I'm saying most private schools will cost around that much.
Most schools that aren't catholic will cost you around 8k to 10k. Look at the cost for st. Joes or catholic high, the cost to attend those high schools is more than 10k a year.
Look at the tuition for Dunham, episcopal, park view, Baton Rouge international, runnells, Christian life. I've looked at all their tuition before. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to pay around 15k a year or move to another parish.

Remind me again, how many times have I proven you've made inaccurate statements in this thread? Is it two...or three? Or is it four? I've lost count.
Maybe that podunk, tiny high school you claimed you "graduated" from wasn't all that good after all......

There is zero chance that I would subject my family to that kind of environment if I had the option. I'm sure there are others who feel the way that I do.
And, the reality that the city may get weaker if I were to move myself out of that situation really would do absolutely nothing to dissuade my decision to move. My loyalty to my family is waaay more important than loyalty to a community.
What guys like Mike Da Tigah fail to realize is that the battle was already lost the minute the city devolved into a place where safety was a legitimate issue and education is a legitimate issue. It's too late at that point.

Parkview is ~$8k, Episcopal's even more.
Whether it's 3k/kid, 6k, 10k, it's expensive.
The alternative is the scary 50-80% property tax increase that Russian claims.
So, for the majority of families, you're talking about $500 to $1000 per family for ALL kids.
Sounds like a bargain.
