When Disney lost Eisner they lost a CEO that allowed for creative thinking. The company generally lacks creativity and that came under Iger's rule.

That video was laughably bad. In fact, I'll admit that I stopped watching a little over half way through. Iger wasn't great. Chapek was dogshit. This video acted like he was all about politically neutral messages. He let the leftist message fly as much, if not more, than anyone.

So, is Disney saved? Probably not.

Chapek was complete crap that it may be damn near impossible to do worse than though.

I don't know if the mouse is now saved... but Chapek was historically bad. It has nowhere to go but up from here.

Bob Paycheck was bad, new CEO won't reverse any of his stupid decisions either
Genie+ is here to stay, so you're still gonna pay for your fast passes
Still gonna have to reserve park passes
Prices still gonna go up
People will still go

ESPN used to just stick to sports. I'm willing to bet that their woke bullshite was pushed down from higher up.

Disney screwed up ESPN. Went all woke. Screwed up Star Wars. Avengers ended. Went all in on Streaming which is a race to the bottom.

Iger built it all and sees writing on wall then leaves.

They blame Chapek.

Iger gets to "save" the company.

Iger sucked, Chapek sucked even worse. Iger bailed because he knew that the shutdowns we're about to happen, and now he is trying to ride in like a white-knight and save the company he screwed over. He paid 71 billion for Fox and let Kathleen Kennedy ruin Star Wars and every other IP she touched. Chapek is a bean counter without a creative bone in his body, but he was set up to take the fall instead of Iger. Iger has been planning this since he stepped back.

Iger is just a more sophisticated version of Fat Phil Fulmer.

It's an interesting take.

I see far-left people celebrating the move because they feel like Chapek put money before the message. I see conservatives thinking this move is related to Disney realizing their shift to woke was a big mistake.

Iger ushered in the woke Disney era. Is he the guy they bring in to crush it? Doubtful.

I think their parks division is the least of their worries. As you said, people will still go. I'm sure it's an absolute shitshow this week with record crowds.

Streaming, bad acquisitions, and movies not meeting expectations are killing the company's value.
