Stephen Collins, who played the beloved father and pastor on the family-friendly series "7th Heaven," has reportedly been caught on tape admitting he molested three young girls.
In the tape posted on TMZ, a man who the site claims is Collins is heard telling his therapist and wife about the incidents. TMZ reports Collins’ wife, Faye Grant, secretly recorded the tape to use in their divorce proceedings.
The man on the tape is heard recalling a time when he exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl.

Usually I would agree that women do some low down stuff, but this guy is a pedo. Not applicable in this case, IMO.

Is something recorded during a therapy session admissible in court? Glad he got outed though and I hope he goes to jail.

this is fricked up
from both sides
lots of morality-based discussion could be had here

why not?
But it shows me just as much about her character that she held onto this for her own benefit rather than turn him in.

When you admit to raping 14yr olds it absolutely is. Also, the wife recorded it and released it, not the therapist.

aren't they legally obligated to report child abuse whether there is privilege or not?

Just wondering. I figured she recorded it for divorce leverage.
Edit: I guess I thought that because it was in the OP.

i don't know their rules, or if it applies to prior acts. i know many won't report it if they think they can heal the person with issues
that's part of the discussion. if you truly believe that you can fix a person if you treat him, but if you turn him in you can't treat him and he will never be fixed...what is the right thing to do?
deep ethical/moral discussions

I don't think rapists or molesters can be fixed. But I'm no mental health professional.
