If you had cancer in the kidney or ureter that were removed. Google a new cancer treatment call Padcev. It was recently approved for use. It may or may not be an option for you.

The best advice I can give people who know or will be going through an abdominal procedure of any kind - buy a wedge pillow. Not a cheap foam style but a sturdy wedge that will emulate a hospital bed. Getting elevation under my shoulders and taking pressure off my abdomen when laying down and starting to get up has been a godsend since I've been home. Can't do much right now aside from walking to the bathroom, but laying on the wedge feels fantastic.

Once you get those fricking staples put your pain will drop considerably. They pull so tight to staple its miserable.

The super ibuprofen (torodol?) Will do more for pain than the narcotics.

Take some laxatives so you're not stopped up and staining on the toilet. That shite is bad .

Glad to hear you are kicking. GL sir happy 4th

I occasionally have a conversation, usually with my parents, about how much cancer treatment has improved over the last 40 - 50 years, and how many people are alive today who wouldn’t have survived their cancers in the 1970s or earlier. You’re probably in that number.

Give it another 40 - 50 years and maybe medical science will have it beat.

Best to you, sir! Wow, amazed at all that you have been through. Keep fighting! It sounds like you have a great team of Physicians and a spirit (and don't forget the wedge pillow!) that gives you a winning edge. May winning be the outcome and soon!
