I don't care what type of music it is or what color the artist is -- I just think most pop music kinda sucks right now. We're in a bad era for it. The shame is there is sooo much good music out there, but it's just not Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, or Lorde. All of these people have talent, but ultimately their music is derivative.

So no editorial choices are made in respect of music? Ok. Interesting take.

Are you taking in reference to how the Grammy winners are picked??

That’s all merely a popularity contest with a shocker thrown in every few years or so.

That wasn't directed at you. I thought the comment was spot on.

Not much diversity going on.

No. I’m talking about popular music in general.

It was pretty cool when Arcade Fire won AOTY for The Suburbs. That's a great record

I don’t understand what you’re trying to understand

The most popular music right now is rap music, mostly dominated by blacks but white rappers have become hot in the last year or so. It’s all due to white consumers buying it.

Why am I an idiot? Why should I care if anyone here likes me?

You actually have some buddies here?

That’s pathetic.

I’m posing questions. You don’t have to answer them, and you don’t have to agree with my opinions.

I do think it’s silly, however, to think that a musical genre’s popularity is determined purely by consumer demand.

I do think rap is the most popular nationwide, but I know way more white people who would rather listen to EDM than just straight rap.

Getting guys like Khalid to mix with marshmello or Martin Garrix is the key to a gold mine at the moment.
