Tested positive for COVID early this year after suffering cold-like symptoms. Do not want the vaccine but under pressure from work. Donated blood at The Blood Center in NOLA area, which uses a Roche Diagnostics test for antibodies -- thinking that if I have antibodies, that would be justification for declining the vaccine. Was shocked to log into Blood Center account and see that I tested negative for antibodies. So I either had a false positive for COVID, a false negative for antibodies, or some other shite isn't adding up.

I’d bet false positive. Hell everything was covid 6 months ago.

Even assuming both tests were accurate what you describe can happen. It depends on your individual immune system and how mild your case of COVID was.

What’s your point? Average time you will test positive for antibodies after an infection is something like 3 months.

Honestly don't think you're an anomaly. Same as those with long-covid cases really. The affects are so wide-ranging it's not easy to pinpoint.

I have a story with the vaccine I've never spoken about on TD. Choose not to because the responses are predictable. Point is, listen to yourself and make your own life choice with regard to your next step. Don't worry about the opinions here.

This is very common to test negative for antibodies. But if you truly had covid then you probably still have t-cell immunity.

This - antibodies are good for 6 months give or take. It's T Cell immunity that your body remembers to fight the disease down the road.

Or, and hear me out, antibodies went away/depleted to undetectable levels after having a mild case of a virus 6 months earlier?

"I have a story with the vaccine I've never spoken about on TD. Choose not to because the responses are predictable."

Had an older cousin who purportedly dropped dead 4 hours after vaccination. Sure, he had a pre-existing heart condition. The doctors apparently told his widow that that is what killed him -- certainly not their precious vaccine. (of course, had he contracted COVID and died, his death would have been causally linked to COVID.)

That’s not accurate. I’ve tested positive for antibodies in July 20, Oct 20, Dec 20 & May 21. Never tested positive for COVID, although based on symptoms my Dr believes I had it in Feb 20. I’ve had antibodies for 16 months, 10 months if you only want to count between positive antibody results

Honestly, let her think he did. She can get that report. She can't sue the pharma but what can be done is petition The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Slam dunk.

I don't advocate misuse of any federal or state monies. But I'll say this. Sometimes a few in a million is legit.

To the dismay of many, no.

Damn near. But no.
