God bless those officers. Under fire from one of those scary black rifles from the moment they were on scene and still got the job done.

I don't understand how there hasn't been a lynch mob in Uvalde.

The school and the police should be commended for doing everything right. This was horrible, and it could have been so much worse. Bless those brave officers. Nashville Strong!

Might be because they had their asses in a vice and knew they had to act or become the next uvalde.

I imagine there's no time to think.
Sounds like they just reacted.
As they should.

As they should have. The Uvalde police should be in prison.

Maybe so, maybe not.

But they had to cover the open ground and make their way to the second floor all while the POS had the high ground and several firearms.

I've heard there were 5 of them on scene. I'm inclined to give them the benefit of doubt and say they are honorable and are heroes.

Whatever their motivation they stand in stark contrast to Uvalde where hundreds of officers that sat outside for an hour while children died.

Wouldn’t you think every police force everywhere learned a lesson from the Uvalde disaster? Their actions were incomprehensible but hopefully every agency knows to go in hot when a school is involved.

The lesson was learned long before Uvalde. That's why the SOP has been to enter no matter what even before Uvalde.

The Uvalde officers were cowards and children died because of it.

The bravery of the Tenn. officers saved children. SOP is great but those officers did what had to be done when it mattered the most. They didn't make up some BS excuse and wait for backup even though they were under fire.

Nashville PD has proven multiple times over the past few years that they’re the real deal. Nashville has issues, but their police department is solid.

You can’t just acknowledge a job well done without relating it to a small town police department thousands of miles away?

Didn’t Texas require a bunch of people from Tennessee Kentucky and Georgia to come fight its battles in order to gain independence

Two guys did it.

They were just on patrol and closest. No SWAT backup, took fire, and ran the frick inside to end this.

Metro police said the shooting began at 10:13 a.m. as Hale entered the school by shooting her way through a side door and made her way from the first floor to the second floor, firing multiple shots.

Metro police released photos Monday night, showing a bullet hole in a squad car windshield, along with windows shot out from the second story of the school. Police say Hale fired shots at arriving officers from the second floor.

Police reported that two officers entered the building, ran toward the sound of gunfire, met Hale on the second floor of the school, and fatally shot her. Those officers have since been identified as Officer Rex Englebert, a four-year MNPD veteran, and Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran.
