How about an 85 CJ7 with the T4?

Yeah, I know, there are better transmissions out there.

4L80E?

Wait, so your saying a 5 speed 98 4 runner transmission costs $2500 to rebuild? Why was I able to buy a brand new one in 02 for $1300?

So I can buy a HD aftermarket rebuild kit for $500, and you'd charge $1500-2000 in labor? Seems like a grade A ripoff. I can get a brand new HD 4L80E shipped to my house for $1700, and it would take a transmission shop probably 2hrs to install

I was 18 and installed the R150F myself in 5 hours with the aid of an online FSM and a Haynes manual
