NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell said in a briefing last week, the city’s call for law enforcement help from across the state was a success and Mardi Gras krewes can return to their traditional parade routes.
“Jeanerette for example, wow, you know, Tangipahoa, wow and of course our partners Baton Rouge and even Jefferson Parish. We are just seeing a reach that’s deep.”

But WWL-TV has learned, sheriff offices in St. Charles, St. John, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and East Baton Rouge Parishes have all said no to the parade details at this point.

there's no penalty for lying in 2023.

It's a politicians duty to just straight up lie over and over with no repercussions.

Maybe she and officer Hardcocks did it standing upright.

It's almost hard for me to be angry at Destroya because I know she's only there because the dipshits in NOLA keep voting for leadership likes hers.

Side note, at this point, is it even possible to "fix" NOLA short of carpet-bombing the whole thing and starting over? And by fix, I mean make it at least palatable.

She's speaking in code about falsifying OT hours.

Mardi Gras is going to be such a shite show. She already pissed off the businesses on Frenchmen and Decatur because the city forced Krewe du Vieux to change their long standing route due to lack of security manpower. Bars and balconies have been sold out for a year for this parade and they were told last week they would have to alter their route causing these businesses to have to refund a shite ton of money.

I know the St. Charles Sheriff's office asked if anyone wanted to go, but I don't think anyone was interested. We have our own parades on the Saturday and Sunday before Mardi Gras so why go work parades in NOLA?

In no way defending her, but what was her lie?
Sounds like the places she named off are working with the city and some others are not.

Looking forward to verbal sparring between Cantrell and Broome before the eventual cage match.

Annex everything east of Bayou St John. Problem solved.

She has a history of discussing things before they are set. See the Target store.

If I were a Sheriff or Police Chief there is ZERO chance I would loan officers to NOPD. The liability issues alone are a non-starter. Even if NOLA promises to indemnify you, your personnel are going to be tied up in lawsuits and depositions the moment they lay hands on someone down there. And if there is an actual user force incident? How fast will the politicians in New Orleans point the finger back at the outside agency?
Not to mention the terrible idea of turning a small town officer or rural sheriffs deputy loose to police a large urban area with intoxicated crowds. NOPD officers and small town cops are not the same thing. I am shocked they are even considering this.

I guess that is a gotcha.
So many things she lies about and y'all are parsing words.
