Honestly, this country needs to start publicly flogging people like this. It would cut out all this bullshite if we publicly shamed people who do dumb stuff constantly and then hide behind a nothing legal system.

High School teachers always blow shite out of proportion.

Then you are a huge part of the problem. Why does any kid need a phone in school? If you have an emergency you should contact the school to inform them anyway so they can get them from the class.

Liar. That's what the principal's office secretary is for.

So you’d rather your kids frick around on their cell phones in class rather than learn something. You’re a great parent.

Call the school.

Are they just butthurt because the kid isn't paying attention to them?

Not that simple. When half of the class fails because they were buried in their phones instead of paying attention, it becomes the teacher's problem.

Ridiculous perspective. Totally unnecessary.
Uses the word "butthurt" as well, double down-votes.

Then it should be even easier for the office to get ahold of your kid for you in an emergency.

This has got to be a troll though, at least I hope it is

Why do only high school teachers get so bent out of shape about phones? If you are playing a game that makes noises that disrupts the class, sure I could see taking action. But just because a kid is texting or browsing something, that is not disrupting the class, whats the big deal? Are they just butthurt because the kid isn't paying attention to them?

yo rug, if your kid follows the rules and dose not take his phone out in class, he would not have it taken from him.

The reason why we get pissed about our students browsing or texting on their phones is because, they are not paying attention to the lesson. If they dont pay attention to the lesson, they fail the test. If this continues, they fail the class.

Oh and guess what, our job depends on their scores. So you're damn right they better be paying attention to me when I'm talking and stay off their damn phones!

God I swear some parents are clueless!

Where there was an emergency situation that required your parents to get in touch with you, how did they handle it? Call the school. The school can pass a message on to your teacher.

I don't know if butthurt is the right word, but yeah, the student should be paying attention. When your kid flunks out because he's not paying attention, not only will you be complaining about the school, but the teacher's evaluation takes a hit.
